The Regional Business Director (RBD) provides leadership and developmental guidance to a team of Area Business Specialists to achieve commercial objectives. Reports to the Vice President of Sales and participates in planning/execution of strategic and tactical plans to meet/exceed sales goals while aligned with company values. Must live within the assigned geography and ensure results are achieved ethically and in compliance with company policies.

Essential Job Functions:
- Establish regional corporate objectives with management
- Represent the company to customers/patients; demonstrate value and solutions
- Collaborate with peers, marketing, and training to implement regional initiatives/strategies
- Conduct frequent subordinate engagement (field visits, business reviews); coach to identify and maximize opportunities
- Apply strong knowledge of key business/market issues and the orphan disease marketplace
- Set and enforce consistent representative standards (account/territory knowledge, product/clinical knowledge, selling skills, planning/analysis, resource utilization, admin, etc.)
- Direct and manage the region budget for maximum return
- Manage individual and team administration; effectively use meetings/conference calls
- Build and manage the team; interview/hire effectively; resolve personnel issues

Qualifications/Skills:
- BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech/orphan disease sales; 5+ years sales management strongly preferred
- Valid US state driver’s license required
- Strong orphan disease sales processes and distribution network knowledge
- Leadership, management, teamwork/collaboration, organization, problem solving, adaptability, professionalism, written/verbal communication, analytical/decision-making, accountability

Working Conditions: periodic evenings/weekends, vehicle/air travel, extensive overnight travel.
Compensation: anticipated base salary range $200,000–$260,000.
