Regional Business Director (Great Lakes) β Gastroenterology Rare Disease Sales
Role Objectives
- Achieve Business Unit sales objectives via Quarterly Business Reviews and coaching.
- Build and lead the regional sales team; support and coach reps; manage relationships with key customers/professionals/stakeholders; oversee regional sales operations (budgets, policies/procedures, sales/account data).
Key Accountabilities
- Plan, direct, implement, and oversee sales activities/policies for a geographic region.
- Execute regional marketing strategies and manage resources to meet quarterly/yearly sales objectives.
- Review sales plan implementation quarterly; assess territories to grow business and improve rep effectiveness.
- Maintain in-depth local customer knowledge; communicate personnel/product/market issues to management.
- Coordinate selling with managed care and national accounts.
- Set performance standards; observe/document performance; counsel/coach reps; recruit, train, and manage performance.
- Manage expenses to budget; plan/conduct POA/launch meetings; liaise between corporate office and field sales.
Qualifications & Required Skills
- BS/BA.
- 3β5 years as a pharmaceutical representative with proven sales success (technical knowledge, selling techniques, medical field understanding).
- Experience selling/managing reps in an institutional environment.
- Business/strategic planning; ability to coach/delegate/motivate with timely feedback.
- Ability to analyze complex data to develop actionable business plans.
- Strong verbal/written/presentation skills; reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- 2β3 years district management experience.
- Product launch/turnaround experience; rare disease and GI experience.
- MBA/Mastersβ degree.
Licenses/Travel
- Valid Driverβs License.
- Some overnight travel; may require evenings/weekends; work from home office when not traveling.
