Position Summary
The Regional Business Director is a sales leadership role responsible for executing the overall growth strategy for the Region. Leads, coaches, mentors, and develops 6β9 account managers and molecular oncology specialists; ensures corporate initiatives and growth initiatives are achieved. Hands-on role focused on leading and developing a sales team, identifying/communicating customer needs and requirements to maintain market leadership.
Job Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed direct sales revenue targets.
- Develop regional sales strategy to achieve direct sales revenue objectives.
- Establish senior-level relationships within key accounts.
- Build, train, and manage a sales team to meet/exceed volume and revenue objectives.
- Provide marketplace feedback to support sales strategy.
- Provide regular visibility into industry trends, best practices, and competitive insights.
- Foster cross-functional relationships for product development, pipeline management, compensation plans, sales reporting, and revenue forecasting.
- Maintain accurate communication with Area Vice President of Oncology Sales on regional revenue and relationships.
- Analyze opportunities and develop strategic sales plans for assigned territory.
- Develop/maintain client relationships (new and existing).
- Advise senior management on client/market concerns; maintain core knowledge of competitive products/services/technology and reimbursement/billing issues.
- Maintain assigned company assets; submit required reports and travel paperwork accurately and timely.
- Support physicians with ordering/interpretation of the CMI platform and QC report quality/accuracy (may require access to PHI).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree (accredited university).
- 5+ years people leadership and understanding of oncology, pathology and/or diagnostic market.
- Strong physician/client relationship understanding.
- Proven success with large global brand marketers/agencies.
- Decision-making under pressure; problem solving and communication.
- General understanding of healthcare business policies and practices.
- Multi-tasking in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Internet; strong written/verbal communication.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented; complex matrix teamwork.
- Ability to prioritize, schedule, and meet deadlines.
- Problem/process analysis and root cause analysis.
- Strong interpersonal/relationship-building; manage up/down/across.
- Valid driverβs license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle and required insurance.
- Regular travel; 50% of time in the field meeting clients/prospects.
