Position Summary
- The Regional Business Director leads execution of the overall growth strategy for the Region, including leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing 6–9 account managers and molecular oncology specialists. Ensures corporate initiatives and required growth initiatives are achieved through a hands-on, sales-team leadership approach. Identifies and communicates customer needs to maintain market leadership.
Job Responsibilities
- Meet/exceed direct sales revenue targets.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategy.
- Build senior-level relationships within key accounts.
- Build, train, and manage a sales team to achieve volume and revenue objectives.
- Provide marketplace feedback to support sales strategy and revenue/volume goals.
- Share industry trends, best practices, and competitive insights with management/staff.
- Maintain cross-functional relationships for product development, pipeline management, compensation plans, sales reporting, and revenue forecasting.
- Communicate relevant regional revenue and account information to Area Vice President of Oncology Sales.
- Analyze opportunities and develop strategic sales plans for assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
- Advise senior management on client/market concerns.
- Maintain core knowledge of competitive products/services/technology solutions and reimbursement/billing issues.
- Maintain assigned company assets; submit required reports/travel and expense documentation.
- Demonstrate core oncology/technology/competitive strategy knowledge.
- Support meetings and trade shows as required.
- Support physicians with CMI platform ordering/interpretation and QC report quality/accuracy (may require access to detailed PHI).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- 5+ years people leadership (preferred) and understanding of oncology, pathology and/or diagnostic market.
- Strong understanding of physician/client relationships and how the company’s solutions meet oncology needs.
- Proven success with large global brand marketers and agencies.
- Passionate, engaging approach with internal/external partners.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication under pressure.
- General understanding of healthcare business policies/practices.
- Ability to multi-task in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet for business.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Self-motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented.
- Ability to work in complex matrix, team-oriented environments; set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Problem management/process analysis/root cause analysis.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building; ability to manage across organizational levels.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle/insurance meeting company requirements.
- Willingness to travel regularly; ~50% time in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
