Role Summary
The Regional Business Manager (RBM) leads a team of Sales Representatives to achieve or exceed sales goals within an assigned territory. This role combines strategic leadership, coaching, and operational excellence while collaborating on cross-functional projects in marketing, analytics, training, and commercial operations. The candidate may reside in Salt Lake City, UT or Denver, CO.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing sales team.
- Coach representatives on product knowledge, disease state expertise, and selling skills.
- Monitor adherence to call plans and ensure effective territory coverage.
- Drive execution of regional tactical plans aligned with national strategy.
- Motivate and hold team accountable for achieving sales targets.
- Ensure accurate and timely use of CRM/SFA systems for call reporting, sample tracking, and physician records.
- Manage regional resources (samples, budgets, routing) to maximize productivity.
- Complete administrative tasks including coaching reports, business reviews, expense submissions, and compliance checks.
- Participate in national management meetings and share best practices.
- Collaborate on product launches, marketing initiatives, and business planning.
- Lead regional meetings and contribute to POA sessions.
- Enforce adherence to company policies, PhRMA Code, PDMA/OIG guidelines, and all regulatory standards.
- Maintain full understanding of RBM expectations and compliance requirements.
- Support special projects (e.g., interview guides, performance review updates, brand planning).
- Represent the company at industry conferences and assist with HCP engagement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field – Required; Master’s degree (MBA) – Preferred
- Experience: 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience: 3+ years in field sales, operations, sales training, or field sales management
- Skills: Computer literate with MS Office products including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel - Intermediate
- Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks in a team environment - Intermediate
- Skills: Ability to work well under pressure and in appreciation of pre-defined and aggressive timelines - Intermediate
