Rare Disease Business Manager (RDBM)

Responsibilities:
- Drive sales and territory growth in narcolepsy type 1 by executing sales strategies and tactics.
- Collaborate with the Regional Business Leader and cross-functional, customer-facing teams to ensure HCPs are well educated and patients can access the new therapeutic option after federal approval.
- Support new product introduction and generate demand through clinical education about the product, orexin system, and narcolepsy type 1.
- Implement sales and marketing plans using approved, on-label materials to achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals; manage business activities within assigned territory.
- Build relationships with specialty HCPs (sleep specialists, neurologists, pulmonologists, sleep centers, clinic staff) and educate on disease state and approved therapies.
- Analyze business trends using data to tailor strategies to market and customer needs; plan territory and accounts.
- Use CRM to document accounts, create pre-call plans, and record post-call activities.
- Manage a territory budget in accordance with compliance policies.
- Partner cross-functionally (Patient Access, Market Access, Marketing) and provide feedback to Sales/Marketing leadership.
- Adhere to compliance policies, guidelines, training, and relevant laws.

Qualifications:
Required:
- BS/BA.
- 3+ years successful selling in pharma/biotech/medical device (or relevant clinical/industry experience); or 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to influence decision-makers in key accounts; strong business acumen/strategic planning.
- Territory planning, strategic account management, and ability to interpret analytical data.
- Collaborative skills in a matrix environment.
- Understanding of payer access and reimbursement (territory/region/state).
- Adaptability; learning agility to apply clinical expertise compliantly.
- Must reside in or near assigned territory.

Preferred:
- 5+ years pharma sales, preferably rare disease/sleep disorders.
- Experience coordinating patient access and market access; consultative/needs-based selling.
- Regulated marketplace experience; digital/AI-enabled process openness.

Licenses/Travel:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to drive/fly to accounts; overnight travel up to 25–50%.

Training:
- Mandatory product training with written/oral examinations.
