Rare Disease Business Manager (RDBM) responsibilities:
- Drive sales and territory growth for narcolepsy type 1 by executing sales strategies/tactics.
- Collaborate with Regional Business Leader and cross-functional customer-facing teams to educate HCPs and support patient access to a new therapeutic option after federal approval.
- After approval, implement sales/marketing plans using approved, on-label materials; achieve monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals; manage territory business activities and advance diagnosis/treatment of NT1.
- Engage and educate specialty HCPs (sleep specialists, neurologists, pulmonologists, sleep centers, clinic staff) on disease state and approved Takeda orexin therapies.
- Analyze business trends and use data to set priorities and tailor strategies; maintain account documentation and CRM pre/post-call plans.
- Manage a territory budget consistent with compliance policies.
- Partner with Patient Access, Market Access, Marketing; provide feedback to Sales/Marketing leadership.
- Follow compliance policies, training, and relevant laws; demonstrate patient-first values.

Required qualifications/skills:
- BS/BA; 3+ years successful pharma/biotech/medical device selling and/or relevant clinical/industry experience OR 2+ years at Takeda.
- Excellent verbal/written communication; ability to influence multiple decision makers.
- Business acumen, strategic planning, territory planning/account management/prioritization.
- Understanding payer access/reimbursement; adaptability; learning agility.
- Live within territory or close proximity.
- Valid Driver’s License.

Preferred:
- 5+ years pharma sales (rare disease/sleep); consultative/needs-based selling; experience coordinating patient/market access; regulated marketplace; digital/AI-enabled processes.

Travel: Drive/fly to accounts; 25–50% overnight travel.
