About the Role
The Rare Disease Business Manager drives franchise sales growth by executing sales strategies, collaborating with customer-facing teams to support patients through their HAE journey, and generating demand by educating healthcare professionals on Takeda brands for treating appropriate Hereditary Angioedema patients. Manages complexity in the HAE marketplace, works with matrix partners to support appropriate access to therapy, and adheres to policies and guidelines to ensure high customer satisfaction.
How You Will Contribute
- Lead business activities in assigned geography, achieve sales goals, and support HCP education for early diagnosis and/or treatment.
- Conduct in-depth business planning using local market analysis and historical analytics.
- Analyze market data to assess opportunities and priorities.
- Plan and execute consultative, needs-based selling to build product/disease-state awareness.
- Develop long-term sales strategies to grow and diversify customer relationships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and matrix partners to maximize outcomes.
- Partner with and motivate extended team members; build engagement and accountability.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Minimum bachelorβs degree.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- 5+ years direct selling experience to healthcare professionals (pharma/biotech/medical device or related).
- Demonstrated strategic territory management success.
- Strong marketplace acumen; understands payer access and reimbursement.
- Ability to work across organizational functions and show learning agility.
Travel Requirements
- Ability to drive/fly to meetings/sites; 25β50% overnight travel.
Training Requirements
- Contingent upon passing mandatory product training (written and oral exams).
- During training: non-exempt status with overtime eligibility (no sales incentives/production-based bonuses). Training includes live instruction, independent study, role play; up to 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week.
- After passing exams: transition to exempt status; no overtime eligibility; paid bi-weekly and eligible for sales incentives/contests.
