Rare Disease Business Manager (Manhattan territory) β Gastroenterology Rare Disease Sales Team
Responsibilities/Objectives:
- Implement the marketing plan and use only on-label/approved materials to achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales/patient objectives.
- Communicate disease/product/formulary information truthfully and non-misleadingly in line with compliance policies and applicable laws.
- Execute brand strategy in the territory to maximize sales within the assigned customer population (physicians, staff, specialists, and appropriate HCPs).
- Analyze local/regional business and managed market trends to set long- and short-term goals.
- Work compliantly in a matrix environment (Patient Services, Specialty Infusion Pharmacies, Managed Markets) including handling confidential patient information.
- Build compliant internal partnerships to align selling approaches with company/territory plans.
- Seek clarification from management/Compliance & Legal if an activity may violate law or policy.
- Meet targeted HCPs/staff regularly; use consultative, technical, solution-oriented selling for Short Bowel and/or Ulcerative Colitis.
- Focus on greatest positive patient impact; manage speaker program budget per compliance policies.
- Share best practices; participate in Regional/National meetings.
- Use CRM to document accounts and pre/post call activity.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelorβs (BS/BA).
- 3+ years selling experience in pharma/biotech/medical device and/or relevant clinical/industry experience; OR 2+ years selling experience at Takeda.
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies; develop/apply clinical and business expertise; strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication.
- Reside within or close to assigned geography; adapt to changing business needs; commitment to learning.
Preferred:
- Local marketing strategy execution; business/strategic planning and managed care understanding.
- Collaboration; specialty injectable/infusion pharmacy distribution experience; coordination with patient services.
- Gastroenterology knowledge; orphan drug/highly specialized experience; ability to analyze complex technical data.
Training:
- Must pass mandatory product training (written/oral exams). Training period: up to 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week; non-exempt during training. After passing exams: transition to exempt status.
