SUMMARY:
- Field-based Account Specialist (hybrid) reporting to the Brand Lead and Business Unit Head, Neurology/AxD. Build and manage long-term relationships with physicians, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and other customers in an assigned territory. Provide access/reimbursement support and product/disease education, and deliver promotional messages to support people with Alexander disease (AxD) (all responsibilities depend on zilganersen approval).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand AxD healthcare market needs (primarily pediatric neurologists/neurologists) and execute territory business plans to meet customer and Ionis goals.
- Provide reimbursement support to COEs; support access for healthcare provider offices in a compliant manner.
- Proactive stakeholder management (~20% effort) and ad-hoc support.
- Educate and promote on-label AxD clinical data to drive demand; enhance HCP awareness and overall experience.
- Support intrathecal administration logistics via COEs.
- Educate HCPs/office staff on zilganersen access process (payer coverage policies and challenges).
- Use patient hub/specialty pharmacy data for patient access status updates.
- Raise AxD disease state awareness; drive appropriate referral/treatment.
- Educate on Ionis patient services and participate in scientific conferences.
- Track sales performance and gather market insights; profile accounts and identify HCPs.
- Develop customer/account-focused territory plans; build โ€œIonis champions.โ€

REQUIREMENTS (incl. preferred):
- Bachelorโ€™s degree + at least 12 years related experience.
- Masterโ€™s/advanced degree (MBA/PhD/PharmD) preferred + at least 8 years related experience.
- 4+ years in pharma sales and/or Field Reimbursement/access roles.
- Experience with neurology/rare diseases product launches; COE/HCP/IDN engagement; cross-functional field coordination; launch experience.
- Strong healthcare ecosystem knowledge (market access/payer policies for rare disease).
- Knowledge navigating complex COEs; analytical skills; self-driven and compliant problem-solving.
- Excellent communication/presentation; proven track record meeting/exceeding quantitative targets.
- Travel ~50%.
