Role Summary

Rare Disease Account Executive Kentucky Territory. Drive patient identification and market development for SMA & ALS by creating territory, account, and customer strategies to achieve area sales, market share, and profit targets for their territory. Build and maintain relationships with physicians and treatment clinics to educate on SMA & ALS and facilitate healthcare provider decisions. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and access.

Responsibilities

  • Drive patient identification and market development for SMA & ALS by building and executing against a territory strategy and account-specific plans. Prioritize time, activities, and resources to optimize accounts with the most sales potential and educate on Biogen services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with physicians by pre-call planning, tailoring call plans, and performing post-call analysis to refine approach.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal/external stakeholders; drive agreement/decisions from multiple stakeholders; adapt communication style to drive alignment and meet goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across commercial, compliance, and patient care centers to ensure access at site of care and ensure logistics are in place to administer.
  • Collaborate with key accounts and physicians to build account plans to approach customers, achieve sales goals, and maintain relationships to maximize sales results.
  • Collaborate with key accounts and physicians to drive patient identification through market development and physician education; develop territory strategy post-launch to retain customers.
  • Execute programs, in-services, and lunch-and-learns for the territory.
  • Determine suitable travel schedule and call plan on a daily/weekly basis to ensure adequate coverage for all key accounts.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive business experience in healthcare or biotech, including 3 years of field-based experience in account management, sales, or field reimbursement. Rare disease experience preferred.
  • Successful track record in field reimbursement, clinical education, or pharmaceutical sales/management of products requiring payer involvement.
  • Experience supporting biologic therapy administered by a designated health care provider.
  • Understanding of field/patient reimbursement, charitable funding, and non-profit organizations.
  • Willingness to travel ~60%; some overnight travel required. Territory covers TN, KY, and IN; must reside within geography.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree; Advanced Degree preferred
