Role Summary

The Rare Blood Community Liaison will support Novo Nordisk's Rare Disease patient and community engagement in the Highland Belt territory. The role attends and helps plan events with patient organizations, represents Novo Nordisk, Inc. (NNI) at selected national events, and cultivates relationships with patients, caregivers and local advocacy groups. You will coordinate with Market Access, Government Affairs and other Rare Blood teams to incorporate patient insights into strategy and communications, and serve as the central coordinator for patient-related activities across Rare Disease and related functions. A high degree of travel is expected (75โ€“90% overnight), and all communications must be HIPAA-compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Develops direct relationships with patients/caregivers and other haemophilia community members including haemophilia organizations and chapters, state and local advocacy groups
  • Executes patient and caregiver educational meetings / exhibits at chapter events, home care meetings, patient conventions, patient dinners, support at community events/camps, etc. about haemophilia and NNI products and services within relevant guidelines
  • Plans and conducts meetings with state and local chapters with the goal of educating patients, caregivers, and other stakeholders on NNIs products and services within relevant guidelines
  • Promotes NNI haemophilia products and services to patients and caregivers within the haemophilia community
  • Coordinates with Community Engagement Leadership and Marketing team, regularly sharing insights on how NNI can continue to improve its offering to the haemophilia community
  • Coordinates with other RBCLs to prepare internal communications to the Rare Disease team, keeping internal stakeholders attuned to the pulse of the community
  • Ensures all communications are HIPAA compliant
  • Identifies for home office, opportunities for increased levels of presence, support and engagement
  • Proactively works to continually deepen NNIs relationship with State and local advocacy organizations (e.g. local chapters of NHF, HFA, etc.), engaging with Government Affairs when necessary
  • Represents NNI at local and national haemophilia events
  • Supports planning efforts for community fundraising activities as needed
  • When necessary, directs questions from the community to the appropriate NNI channel (e.g., MIR, NovoCare, etc.)
  • Utilizes discretionary budget for maximum impact on community engagement

Qualifications

  • Required: At least 3 years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may include haemophilia care, treatment or advocacy, business to business or pharmaceutical sales experience; pharmaceutical sales experience preferred
  • Preferred: Marketing or clinical experience
  • Required: A Bachelorโ€™s degree
  • Preferred: Scientific degree

Additional Requirements

  • 75-90% overnight travel required
  • Driver must maintain a valid driverโ€™s license
  • Must be in good standing by not exceeding the Novo Nordisk points threshold assigned based on review of Motor Vehicle Records
