Role Summary

Project Planner-PMO. Reporting to the Director, Program Management, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling project activities on one or many cross-functional execution teams. You will develop detailed project plans, define tasks, timelines, and resource requirements, and manage project information to balance scope, time, cost, resources, risk and quality. You will monitor project health and communicate transparently to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the development of project plans for drug/device development teams using standardized project management tools and processes.
  • Facilitates team communications across cross-functional teams and contributes to cross-functional or department initiatives.
  • Support and advise the project manager and team members on monthly project plan maintenance and information reporting.
  • Compile and provide standard reports on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Interact with all levels of employees in support of project coordination.
  • Develop and maintain multiple project planning scenarios; identify and monitor risks, meeting notes, actions, and decisions.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand objectives, scope, and requirements.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, deliverables, tasks, and timelines; create detailed project schedules using PM software.
  • Identify critical path activities and dependencies to improve timelines.
  • Assess resource requirements and allocation; present recommendations to project managers and team members.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Monitor project progress and provide clear communication to stakeholders; provide updates on status, milestones, and variances.
  • Lead and support cross-functional sub-teams to achieve deliverables critical for program success.
  • Proactively address and resolve missing or incorrect project data; identify novel solutions for problems.
  • May mentor junior staff and cross-functional organizational employees of business processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, project management, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in life sciences, drug and/or device development (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and propose sound strategies and solutions.
  • Knowledge of drug and/or device development processes; cross-functional and global project team leadership experience (preferred).
  • Proficient in MS Office and PM tools; strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; sound judgment and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and best practices; strong organizational and planning skills; detail-oriented regarding timelines and documentation.
  • Ability to present recommendations to project teams and report status to stakeholders; effective collaboration across all levels of the organization.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
