The Position
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously across business units; deliver within budget, schedule, and scope.
Essential Functions
- Lead multi-disciplined teams to complete projects on-time/on-budget and meet quality, cost, schedule, and scope requirements.
- Develop and execute project plans aligned to scope, schedule, quality, impact, and cost objectives.
- Negotiate required staffing with LOB; support training for project personnel.
- Create staffing plans using internal and external (contingent/consultant) resources; manage external tasks/timing for budget alignment.
- Provide project cash flow projections (AB/RE/LE).
- Refine business cases with owners/sponsors; establish and communicate quantifiable project benefits.
- Coordinate contract and internal resources.
- Refine/clarify scope via early analysis with SMEs/owners.
- Develop bid packages, evaluate bids, drive vendor selection; work with procurement on project contracts.
- Manage financials: purchase orders, invoicing, and cost forecasting.
- Monitor/control quality, schedule, and budget; report progress to stakeholders and leadership.
- Ensure steering group status and gate presentation quality.
- Review/approve/endorse project procurement (purchase orders, bid events).
- Support Project Portfolio Management (PMO tools); align with global programs/site projects; ensure lifecycle alignment to STG/project owner expectations.
- Support project manager mentoring and onboarding.
- Follow safety and environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in Engineering or other Technical Science (required), or
- Associateโs degree (Eng. Technology/other Technical Science) + 7+ years proven project management, or
- High school/GED + 9+ years proven project management.
- 5+ years proven project management experience, including:
- Change management projects (required)
- Complex/major capital expenditure projects (required)
- Pharma/biotech experience (preferred)
- Advanced project management training/experience (preferred)
- Required skills: excellent writing/oral communication, presentation/facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution; ability to create/manage work plans and detailed schedules; strong analytical/organizational/multi-tasking skills; cross-cultural stakeholder communication.
- Preferred: experience in technical & non-technical areas, creativity in problem-solving, GMP concepts, Lean principles, product documentation/SOP knowledge, critical thinking, Novo Nordisk Way behaviors.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to function independently and lead; team environment success.
