Operations
Responsibilities:
- Set, direct, and control department and financial goals, budget, and objectives.
- Drive and lead the engineering automation department to meet site/engineering business strategies; accountable for cost center expenses, project budgets, and delivery of projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures; ensure quality and effectiveness of major project results through sound design, early risk assessments, and fallback strategies.
- Assess consequences (defects and failure modes) of design changes to established processes.
- Mitigate risk through sound design, early risk assessments, and fallback strategies.
- Recommend and implement business strategies and engineering controls to reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and drive world-class performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define action plans, timelines, budgets; manage and assign engineering resources.
- Analyze business forces (customers, suppliers, competitors, technologies, government regulations) to identify trends and recommend responses; execute or direct design of products/processes/equipment/systems/facilities using novel engineering concepts.
- Develop and manage staff (hiring, performance management, talent development, clear expectations).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/science or closely related field (or equivalent technical experience); advanced degree preferred.
- Automation experience required.
- 8+ years’ experience including individual contributor technical expertise and proven project management.
- Progressively increased responsibility as a supervisor/department manager in operations.
- Business acumen and leadership experience to drive high performance.
