Role Summary

The Project Delivery Engineer provides program and project support by coordinating with operations teams to ensure timely information exchange, managing project transitions to operations, maintaining an organized engineering library, and analyzing risks while delivering progress reports to leadership. It includes finance and procurement responsibilities, such as overseeing the Purchase to Pay process, managing vendor pools, and ensuring asset capitalization in collaboration with Finance and service partners. The role participates in knowledge-sharing initiatives, governance meetings, and operational forums to drive best practices and alignment across site and regional teams. As part of the Global Supply Chain R&D Engineering Services team, you will contribute to Facilities Management and Capital Projects delivery for Technical R&D sites within GSC’s Engineering and EHS organization.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with operations teams to ensure information required by project teams is provided in a timely fashion and that operations teams are aware of project impacts on site operations.
  • Coordinate technical engineering deliverables and ensure actions and decisions are tracked.
  • Manage the transition of completed projects to operations, ensuring documentation, training, and systems are in place for seamless integration.
  • Manage the Site Engineering Library, organizing technical documentation so it can be quickly found and meets operational needs and GSK requirements.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and mitigate program risks; produce program reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports to keep leadership informed of project progress and escalate safety or delivery issues when unresolved.
  • Manage Purchase to Pay for capital projects, coordinating with service partners to ensure timely purchase orders and payment of invoices per contract terms.
  • Support pre-qualification of third-party vendors to maintain a pool of approved contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Coordinate asset capitalization and verification, working with Finance and service partners to ensure data requirements are met and improvements implemented.
  • Performance manage the asset capitalization process to meet deadlines in collaboration with service partners.
  • Participate in Communities of Practice to share learnings, benchmarks, innovations, and improvements for Project Management.
  • Participate in site and regional governance meetings with Service Partners and engage in regular operational forums.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelors degree
  • Required: Minimum 3 years experience in facilities management and/or engineering projects
  • Preferred: PMP certification
  • Preferred: Graduate or Advanced degree
  • Experience with engineering drawings and organizing/managing a library of technical documentation
  • Experience in supplier management
  • Knowledge of financial and procurement processes
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external service partners
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to use/build analytic platforms for data reporting, track project performance, and develop actionable insights
  • Basic knowledge of construction safety
