Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
- Independently perform board-level and component-level troubleshooting on analog, digital, RF, LASER, and electromechanical assemblies, including limited component replacement for diagnostic confirmation and failure isolation.
- Serve as the primary technical escalation resource for non-routine production failures not resolved through standard work instructions, automated test flows, or routine board-swap/component-replacement.
- Conduct and document root-cause failure analysis for manufacturing defects, test failures, and other nonconforming material.
- Evaluate failed material and recommend disposition, including supplier/vendor rework or other corrective action.
- Process defective material to MRB in a timely manner and provide technical input for disposition decisions.
- Identify recurring failure trends and provide feedback to improve test methods, manufacturing processes, work instructions, training, and supplier quality.
- Support new product introduction by developing debug approaches, test methods, work instructions, and failure isolation strategies for pilot/early production builds.
- Coach and mentor junior technicians in troubleshooting, documentation, and escalation criteria.
- Communicate issues impacting yield, quality, throughput, and reliability with technical assessment and recommended next steps.
- Support manufacturing with engineering-related issues (documentation, test, component evaluation, performance issues, and engineering change implementation).
Qualifications / Experience:
- HS Diploma.
- Minimum 5 years hands-on experience testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting analog and digital electronics at component, subsystem, and system level.
- Demonstrated complex board-level/component-level troubleshooting with selective component replacement.
- Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and engineering documentation.
- Experience documenting findings and communicating root-cause conclusions and corrective recommendations to cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting MRB, nonconforming material evaluation, or failure disposition.
- Medical device or similarly regulated environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor/train production personnel.
- Good English skills (verbal, written, reading).
- Experience in an ESD-controlled environment.
- Basic computer skills.
