Position Summary
The responsibilities of this position are to monitor, direct and motivate the performance of a team of Production Technicians. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise and implement process improvements to increase workflow efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team (set goals, performance management, career development, oversee daily work while contributing to daily lab projects)
- Work with employees in the lab; mentor, train, and motivate personnel
- Ensure product is manufactured according to deadline
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on troubleshooting and process/product improvement experiments
- Organize daily lab activities including safety, maintenance, supplies, and equipment calibration
- Provide technical guidance; help resolve technical problems; increase team knowledge
- Address employee issues; serve as a role model for professional behavior
- Attend meetings and ensure action items are completed
- Lead identification and implementation of process improvements to increase workflow efficiencies
- Draft and revise SOPs as needed
- Display willingness to learn new concepts and techniques
- Follow company policies and safety guidelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; 2β4 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated leadership capacity required
- Previous leadership experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required/Preferred)
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, including hematology instruments
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Planning, organizational, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across groups
- Problem-solving skills
- Skills in leading and supervising
- Professional communication (oral and written)
- Ability to handle confidential/proprietary information
- Ability to train new employees
