Your Role: Production Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd Shift (Saturday thru Wednesday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM)
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on packaging/fill line equipment, capping machines, bioreactors, fermenters, and related support systems
- Perform equipment setup, changeovers, PM activities, and mechanical troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Complete accurate electronic work orders and maintenance documentation in compliance with cGMP standards
- Support fabrication and repair work including welding, grinding, sawing, and metalwork
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment issues, train others, and maintain a safe, clean work environment following OSHA and lockout/tagout procedures
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- Education: High School Diploma / GED required
- Required Experience: Maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical environment
- Top Skills: Strong mechanical troubleshooting aptitude; effective verbal/written communication
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications):
- Additional education from vocational technical schools or colleges
- Experience maintaining high-speed packaging or fill line equipment in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of AC/DC electricity, 3-phase electrical systems; ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics
- Experience with welding, grinding, fabrication, and shop math calculations
- Familiarity with GMP environments and electronic maintenance record systems
Additional Information:
- Location: Fort Dodge, IA Manufacturing Site
- Working environment includes GMP areas, aseptic production requiring sterile gowning, process areas, and mechanical spaces
- Physical requirements: walk, bend, lift, work in confined spaces, and perform duties in adverse outdoor conditions
