MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Provide support to the Procurement team, internal stakeholders, and suppliers, with ownership of contract and category management tasks to ensure awareness and compliance with established processes. Drive sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations to deliver incremental and optimal value from 3rd party spend. Manage a team of Procurement Specialists to ensure operational workload is timely, accurate, and complete, and own operational activities to ensure business continuity.
This role is based in either the Immunocore Radnor (PA) or Gaithersburg (MD) office; fully remote working cannot be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead contact for certain functions/stakeholders/suppliers; provide negotiation, contract management, and procurement process expertise
- Create, negotiate, and finalize contractual documents (MSAs, Work Orders, Change Orders) using pre-approved templates where appropriate
- Lead RFPs; ensure Procurement input and proper sourcing process; select best-value winning proposals; communicate consistently with all bidders
- Manage Procurement Specialist team (2) with hands-on operational ownership
- Collaborate on sourcing strategies (leverage spend through fewer sources)
- Contribute to corporate savings pipeline by identifying and implementing efficiency opportunities
- Proactively progress contract/PO execution and anticipate contract requirements
- Anticipate and mitigate supplier/sourcing risks
- Coach stakeholders/suppliers and support timely completion of team responsibilities
- Develop proficiency in Netsuite (ERP) and Agiloft (Contract Management)
- Enhance Procurement infrastructure, including introduction/incorporation of AI/technology
- Identify and implement process efficiency opportunities to accelerate contract review and negotiations
- Advocate for corporate compliance and contract management process enhancements
- Role model application of corporate policies/procedures and adherence to compliance/process requirements
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Procurement experience at Global Category or Procurement Manager level
- Experience negotiating with global suppliers; influence geographically dispersed stakeholders
- Experience with international companies (ideally US & UK presence)
- Line management experience combining operational and strategic responsibilities in fast-paced environments
- Continuous improvement mindset; improving/transformation using technology
- Credibility with management and external stakeholders
- Leadership of strategic sourcing with cross-functional teams
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements
- Ability to manage multiple requests; prioritize competing tasks
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT)
Desirable
- Experience with Agiloft and/or Netsuite
- Life Sciences or Healthcare industry experience
