Location: Gaithersburg, MD or Radnor, PA (fully remote not considered)
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Provide strong support to the Procurement team, internal stakeholders, and suppliers by owning contract and category management tasks to ensure compliance with established processes, and by driving sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations to deliver value from 3rd-party spend. Manage a team of Procurement Specialists and ensure timely, accurate operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as lead contact for functions, stakeholders, and suppliers; provide procurement process expertise, negotiation, and contract management
- Create, negotiate, and finalize contractual documents (MSAs, Work Orders, Change Orders) using approved templates
- Lead RFPs; ensure procurement input and sourcing process are followed so the best value proposal is selected and communications are consistent/timely
- Manage Procurement Specialists (2) with hands-on operational ownership
- Collaborate on optimal sourcing strategies to leverage spend through fewer sources of supply
- Contribute to savings pipeline by identifying efficiencies and driving sustainable implementation
- Ensure contract/PO execution progresses timely by anticipating requirements and engaging stakeholders
- Mitigate supply/sourcing risks
- Support accurate and timely completion of team responsibilities; coach stakeholders and suppliers on process steps
- Build capability in Netsuite (ERP) and Agiloft (Contract Management)
- Enhance procurement infrastructure (including AI/technology); lead process-efficiency improvements
- Advocate corporate compliance and contract management enhancements; model policy adherence
Qualifications/Experience
- Procurement experience at Global Category or Procurement Manager level
- Negotiation experience with global suppliers; influence geographically dispersed stakeholders
- Experience with international companies (US/UK presence preferred)
- Line management experience combining operational and strategic work in fast-paced environments
- Continuous improvement/process transformation mindset, leveraging technology
- Credibility with management/external stakeholders; lead strategic sourcing cross-functionally
- Proactive process improvement and ability to prioritize multiple requests
Skills/Tools
- Excellent written/oral communication; analytical and detail-oriented approach
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Education/Certifications
- Degree graduate
Preferred/Desirable
- Experience with Agiloft and/or Netsuite
- Life Sciences or Healthcare industry experience
- CIPS certified
