Role Summary
Process Technician - Visual Inspection (Night Shift) at Lilly. Responsible for supporting commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness of inspection lines using semi-automated and automated technology, progressing to safe operation of highly automated equipment for syringe inspection, and manual unit inspection. Role includes potential for leadership opportunities and travel as program needs require.
Responsibilities
- Provide commissioning, qualification, and operational readiness support during project phase.
- Adhere to RTP Plant safety policies and procedures to contribute to a safe work environment.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure product quality.
- Support leadership on the manufacturing floor by maintaining safety, quality, and productivity to ensure reliable product supply.
- Proactively monitor documentation and product quality; document activities and report issues to supervision.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for issue escalation on the shop floor during troubleshooting and support leadership in operator development.
- Assist Supervisor in the development and training of shift operators.
- Drive departmental objectives to improve safety performance, reduce deviations, increase productivity, and ensure training compliance.
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Required: Minimum 1-year relevant experience (education may be substituted for experience with manager discretion)
- Required: 2+ years relevant experience in pharmaceutical or equivalent regulated industry
- Preferred: Demonstrated ability to train and coach others
- Preferred: Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal)
- Preferred: Flexibility and problem-solving skills
- Preferred: Scientific/technical degrees or certifications
- Preferred: Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs)
- Preferred: Experience with semi-automated and automated visual inspection equipment
- Preferred: Experience with pre-filled syringe (PFS) technology
- Preferred: Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems and electronic batch records
- Preferred: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

Additional Requirements
- The position is for the Lilly Research Triangle Park site
- May require short-duration assignments (1–2 months) domestically or internationally
- Ability to wear safety equipment (safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, etc.)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on days (2-2-3 schedule)
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to pass an annual job fitness exam
