Scope
- 6-month, full-time, on-site engineering co-op (Process Engineering) supporting Oligonucleotide manufacturing and capital projects for the Lexington, MA site.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist the Process Engineering team with executing engineering project deliverables.
- Draft technical and quality documents.
- Troubleshoot and maintain GMP process equipment.
- Support manufacturing investigations and related activities.
- Support Engineering and Facilities activities; learn oligonucleotide process unit operations and equipment.
- Interpret engineering documents (e.g., P&IDs, process and instrumentation diagrams, equipment specifications).
- Support and document engineering activities (maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment studies).
Preferred Education, Skills, Experience and Interests
- Pursuing a Bachelor-level degree in a technical discipline (chemical engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, etc.).
- Experience/interest in GMP process equipment and/or GMP manufacturing environments (plus).
- Experience/interest in oligonucleotide manufacturing processes, unit operations, and facilities (plus).
- Data analysis with statistical software/programming (MS Excel, JMP, SQL, R, Python, etc.) (plus).
- CAD and drafting P&IDs (plus).
- Using AI tools to boost productivity and/or perform data analysis (plus).
Requirements
- Track record delivering projects/goals in independent and team settings.
- Willingness to be coached/mentored; speak up/ask questions.
- Excellent oral and written communication; highly detail-oriented and organized.
- Experience solving complex problems via in-depth analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to climb ladders/work in tight spaces; lift 25–50 lbs; push/pull; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to gown in/out of cleanrooms.
Eligibility/Application Instructions (Co-op)
- Undergraduate students enrolled full-time in chemical/bioprocess engineering or related program at an accredited university.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; return to school after the co-op.
- GPA 3.3+ preferred; age 18+ prior to start date.
