Process Development Senior Scientist
What You Will Do
- Develop, characterize, scale-up, and support drug substance processes to advance programs from Phase II/III to marketing applications.
- Collaborate with cell culture and purification scientists across multiple modalities (antibodies, oncolytic viruses, bispecifics, siRNAs).
- Apply platform approaches and problem-solving to rapidly address drug substance challenges and build robust processes with efficient experimentation.
- Drive innovation and contribute to technology development.
- Expand and develop cell culture and purification skills.
- Participate in drug substance teams and collaborate cross-functionally with analytical and drug product representatives to deliver phase-appropriate manufacturing processes.
- Deliver processes suitable for cGMP operation and perform work in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
- Author or direct technical reports and CMC regulatory submissions (minimal additional editing may be required).
What We Expect Of You
Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree
OR Master’s degree + 4 years life sciences experience
OR Bachelor’s degree + 6 years life sciences experience
OR Associate’s degree + 10 years engineering experience
OR High school/GED + 12 years engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in relevant discipline or related industry experience
- Bioreactor process development or cell line development experience; understanding of bioreactor technologies and protein critical attributes
- Independent issue resolution (cell culture/harvest) and execution of scientific projects
- Strong written/verbal technical communication; self-starter; interpersonal/organizational skills
- Leadership experience; peer-reviewed publications
- Cross-functional/diverse teamwork; DOE/statistical analysis familiarity
- Knowledge of license application/drug development process
- Exposure to cGMP manufacturing and CMC regulatory submissions
