Description
Wave Life Sciences seeks a highly motivated co-op student to join its team in Lexington, Massachusetts. The student will gain exposure to oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, and analysis. Co-ops are trained on laboratory techniques and instrumentation in a team-oriented, fast-paced, cross-disciplinary biotech environment. Organic chemistry or biochemistry laboratory experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the upstream and downstream development of oligonucleotides
- Prepare synthesis reagents for solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis (weigh organic compounds and prepare reagents)
- Independently prepare buffer solutions of specified molarity for oligonucleotide purification
- Assist in operating AKTA systems and learn UNICORN software
- Assist in running desalting operations on Sartoflow TFF systems
- Prepare and submit samples on analytical systems (UPLC, LCMS) and conduct analysis
- Maintain detailed experimental records in electronic lab notebooks
- Use a pH meter and Nanodrop to record data
- Use MS Excel (preferred)
