Process Control & Automation Engineer

Role Summary

Process Control & Automation Engineer at Lilly. Responsible for automation design and oversight for the Lebanon LP1 facility, collaborating with system integrators and supporting initiatives across lifecycle management, information management, and cyber security.

Responsibilities

• Safety ‚Äì Work safely and continually look for improvements in personnel and equipment safety; ensure safe design and operation of new equipment and that automation design reflects safety concerns for operations and maintenance.
• Automation Design
  • Design and implement Automation Strategies that allow operators to interact with and manipulate the process in compliance with cGMP batch manufacturing requirements.
  • Generate/Update Design SDLC documentation.
• Automation/Control Discipline
  • Partner with colleagues to support and enhance Automated Systems and Equipment, including adjustments to PID Control Parameters.
  • Perform solution assessment and performance reviews to verify proper and efficient operation of automated systems.
  • Support the discipline through solution assessment, replication, and development.
  • Manage tools, implement engineering standards, master specifications, and best practices.
  • Provide technical coaching and consultation to Lilly engineers and facilitate shared learning forums.
  • Support Projects and the integration of new equipment/technologies to the manufacturing workflow.
  • Support Automated System Commissioning and Qualifications.
• Technology and Innovation ‚Äì Keep current on external trends and practices to evaluate technology for application within Lilly.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Technology, or a related field.
• Required: Minimum 2 years‚Äô experience in Industrial Equipment Control, API Manufacturing Process control, Utilities Automation or Environmental Control Systems.
• Preferred: Formally trained on Emerson Delta-V DCS platform (HW/SW).
• Preferred: 1+ year working on automation of Nanofiltration Technology on Peptides API manufacturing.
• Preferred: Demonstrated ability to work safely.
• Preferred: Expertise in one or more automation platforms, preferably Rockwell Automation Systems.
• Preferred: Strong problem-solving skills in measurements, control (process and/or manufacturing), control systems, integration, and data.
• Preferred: Excellent verbal and written communications skills; knowledge of GMPs and pharmaceutical manufacturing; knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems.
