Position Summary:
We are seeking a Process Automation Engineer to drive the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, product quality, and process reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement production and automation processes for new and existing products.
- Integrate systems featuring automation, optics/detection, fluidics, and instrument components.
- Use system-level analysis to design automation systems and instruments.
- Test and debug prototype instruments and automation equipment.
- Collaborate with process, mechanical, and controls engineers to integrate automation into production lines and systems.
- Program/configure PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, and/or DCS (e.g., Beckhoff, LabView).
- Lead/support automation troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Translate process requirements into technical specifications and automation control logic.
- Support commissioning, validation, and documentation in regulated environments (e.g., FDA, ISO).
- Maintain knowledge of automation trends, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Assist with SOPs and training materials.
- Support manufacturability, manufacturing transfer, and cost-effective instrument design.

Qualifications And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronics, or related).
- 5+ years’ experience in automation and/or process engineering.
- Proficient in automation platforms (e.g., LabView, Beckhoff).
- Strong process mapping, control systems, and data acquisition knowledge.
- Solidworks or other parametric 3D modeling; Solidworks PDM familiarity.
- Industry 4.0 familiarity (MES, digital twins, IIoT) desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and proactive continuous improvement.

Additional Skills (preferred):
- Regulated environment experience (pharma/medical device/biotech).
- Process modeling; Six Sigma or Lean.
- Scripting/industrial data tools (Python, SQL, R).
- Project management.
- Database interactions (SQL/JSON), digital communications, machine vision control, SolidWorks Electrical; ISO-9001/ISO-13485.
- Validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) plus; electrical automation design plus.

Pay Range:
$73,100.00 - $120,200.00
