Process Automation Engineer (2nd Shift)

What You Will Achieve
Provide engineering and automation support for installation, commissioning, testing/qualification, operation, and maintenance of process and automated equipment/systems in a biopharmaceutical clinical manufacturing facility (e.g., single-use bioreactors, ultrafiltration/chromatography skids, DeltaV DCS automation).
How You Will Achieve It
- Manage complex projects to meet targets/deadlines
- Operate and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and control systems
- Support automation systems for production and ancillary equipment with cross-functional teams
- Provide on-the-floor operational support as needed
- Support qualification of new equipment and upgrades
- Support maintenance department as needed
- Review equipment process and maintenance history
- Support investigations, change controls, and audits
- Provide second-shift coverage
Qualifications
Must-Have
- BS (any experience) or AS (4 years relevant) or HS/GED (6 years relevant)
- Some experience with DCS/Emerson DeltaV, Allen-Bradley PLC, and OSI PI
- Experience in biotechnology manufacturing or laboratory environment
- Execute SOPs and complete compliant documentation
- Matrix team collaboration; strong analytical/computer and oral/written communication skills
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment
Nice-to-Have
- Biological Pilot Plant or commercial manufacturing experience
- Automation networks (Ethernet, DH+, Control Net) and SQL/Oracle
- Facility/equipment commissioning and qualification
- Experience with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) and responsible AI practices
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Clean-room access (sit/stand/bend/walk); solve complex problems; use organizational knowledge to develop solutions
Non-standard Work
- Minimal travel for FAT support/projects; manage second shift; work in clean room

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $68,600β$114,300; Global Performance Plan bonus target 7.5%
