Position Summary
We are seeking a Principal Scientist, Analytical Sciences, to run analytical methods for the characterization of RNA therapeutics.
Responsibilities
- Implement analytical testing strategy for circular RNA and lipid nanoparticle formulations, focusing on chromatography methods.
- Develop and qualify drug substance and drug product analytical methods; perform characterization studies.
- Build and develop internal analytical capabilities for in-process, release, stability, and characterization testing.
- Perform regular maintenance on HPLCs and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
- Support method transfers to Contract Research Organizations; provide technical guidance/troubleshooting.
- Review method procedures, method validation protocols, and reports.
- Generate, interpret, and present data to cross-functional R&D teams.
- Contribute to a positive, entrepreneurial, and creative work environment.
Basic Requirements
- BS in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or similar; 6–9 years analytical method development experience.
- OR MS in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or similar; 3+ years analytical method development experience.
- PhD not considered at this level.
- Experience with HPLC/UPLC and related software.
- Experience developing, qualifying, validating, and transferring analytical methods in a GxP environment.
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; no visa sponsorship.
Additional Preferences
- Strong interest/experience with IP-RP, SEC, AEX; knowledge of LC-MS, DLS, CE, and/or spectrophotometry and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with LNPs and/or mRNA.
- Strong oral/written communication; able to work independently.
