Principal Engineer, Platform Engineering & AI Enablement

Role: Principal Engineer leading platform engineering for enterprise AI and cloud solutions at Alkermes. Primary objectives include designing scalable, secure cloud architectures, automating deployment processes, and enabling AI workloads such as large language models and generative AI. Qualifications: 10+ years in software, platform, or cloud engineering, with 5+ years on enterprise AWS platforms; strong experience with automation, security, monitoring, and supporting AI/analytics platforms; bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. Preferred skills include AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Python, and AI-related tools, with certifications in AWS or infrastructure automation advantageous. The role requires a hybrid work setup based in Waltham, MA, with 60% onsite and 40% remote, and involves cross-functional stakeholder engagement to accelerate solution delivery and platform reliability in a regulated biopharma environment.
