Position Summary
Principal Data Scientist (Biometrics and Data Management)
Lead the development of AI-powered, scalable data science tools to support evolving business needs; partner with clinical scientists, biostatisticians, data managers, statistical programmers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and deploy robust data-driven solutions that accelerate decision-making and improve patient outcomes. Build production-grade tools and frameworks extending internal platform capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional units to understand business needs and gather insights for internal data science tool development.
- Develop and validate data science tools for clinical research and trial optimization.
- Ensure scalability, maintainability, and reliability via software engineering best practices (testing, documentation, CI/CD).
- Design, build, and implement scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure on AWS.
- Communicate technical results and insights through clear presentations and documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- 12+ years Data Science with Bachelor’s (10+ with Master’s; 6+ with Ph.D.); at least 5 years developing production-grade software in Python or R.
- Demonstrated understanding of software architecture, performance optimization, and validation.
- Strong Machine Learning/Deep Learning expertise (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience deploying/maintaining models in production (APIs, batch jobs, microservices).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experienced with GitHub.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or Ph.D. in relevant field.
- Experience optimizing scalable data architectures/analytics pipelines in AWS/GCP/Azure; containerization (Docker).
- Production experience with Large Language Models/GenAI.
- Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Travel Required: Connection week
