Role Summary
The Principal Data Scientist will join the Commercial Data Sciences & Data Insights team within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Business Technology to craft, develop, and field data science solutions that drive impact for patients and the company. This role emphasizes exploring and analyzing data to build business value across multiple business units and therapeutic areas, including sales and marketing optimization, patient/payer analytics, and commercial strategy. Located in Titusville, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver data science projects by staying on the cutting edge of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and novel algorithm development; translate complex methods into actionable insights for diverse audiences; partner with matrixed teams across business and technology.
Qualifications
- Required: Ph.D. with 3 years of experience, or M.S. with 5+ years of relevant pharma sales & marketing experience, in Computer Sciences, Statistics, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Physics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Informatics, Medical Informatics, Computational Biology or a related discipline.
- Required: Strong working knowledge of machine learning platforms/environments.
- Required: Strong working knowledge of AI-type algorithms, including regression, decision trees, probability networks, association rules, clustering, neural networks, and/or Bayesian models.
- Required: Familiarity with large datasets, handling of healthcare relevant datasets and understanding of data analysis workflows.
- Required: Proficiency with one or more programming languages such as Python, R, SAS or Java.
- Required: Proficiency with SQL.
- Required: Experience with PySpark.
- Required: Experience delivering on data science projects using predictive technologies, data mining and/or text mining.
- Required: Familiarity with working in a cloud-based technology stack.
- Required: Familiarity with usage of Generative and Agentic AI for productivity improvement.
- Required: Strong communication skills and ability to communicate complex methods and results to diverse audiences.
