General Summary
- Serve as the technical lead for Vertex’s Enterprise Microsoft 365 and Work Management Platforms, driving administration, governance, and stability of M365 collaboration services and project/task management tools.
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to drive the strategic roadmap and day-to-day operational excellence, including AI-driven enhancements to improve productivity and teamwork.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Entra ID, and Copilot): architecture, integration, continuous improvement, and platform strategy/roadmap.
- Own the end-to-end platform lifecycle for Smartsheet, Asana, Microsoft Planner, and Microsoft Project Online.
- Establish and operate governance (provisioning standards, templates, naming conventions, access models, retention/archiving, audit readiness).
- Manage security and compliance controls (permissions, data handling, lifecycle management, operational assurance).
- Design and maintain standardized templates/solutions (intake workflows, project plans, dashboards, reporting frameworks).
- Deliver reliable platform operations (monitoring, incident/problem management, change management, release coordination, vendor engagement).
- Translate stakeholder requirements into scalable configurations and capabilities.
- Define and track service performance metrics (adoption, usage health, support trends, stability, business outcomes).
- Lead/coordinate integrations and automation to streamline intake, reporting, notifications, and data movement.
- Develop and execute enablement/adoption plans (documentation, training, office hours, champion networks, communications).
- Provide senior consultation on portfolio/program/project management practices enabled by the platforms.

Knowledge and Skills
- Senior expertise administering/governing enterprise-scale SaaS platforms (Microsoft 365 plus Smartsheet, Asana, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project Online).
- Strong platform governance principles (security, access control, information lifecycle, standardization, scalable operating models).
- Ability to translate business needs into practical, user-friendly solutions and drive stakeholders toward standard approaches.
- Operational excellence experience (incident/change management, release readiness, documentation, service KPIs).
- Excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and continuous improvement mindset in a fast-moving environment.
- Vendor/partner management skills (support, escalations, roadmap alignment).

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Business) or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience in enterprise platform administration and/or work management ecosystem leadership, including governance and operating-process ownership.
