General Summary
The Portfolio & Program Management Business Technology Director leads technology and AI capabilities for PPM and the broader TAPM organization, enabling integrated planning, portfolio reporting/analytics, and scalable new ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Partner with TAPM leadership to shape and execute the technology and AI roadmap.
- Serve as business owner for the PPM project management platform; primary accountability for MS Project Server Subscription Edition as the system of record.
- Own AI tools/use cases across PPM and TAPM to improve reporting, analytics, automation, and process efficiency.
- Ensure platform data supports portfolio reporting, resource planning, financial planning, and enterprise decision-making.
- Define business requirements, evaluate options, and support selection of future-state project management/portfolio technology solutions.
- Coordinate integration across plans, portfolio data, resources, and financials to improve data quality.
- Define/maintain governance and continuous-improvement processes (system/data governance, issue resolution, platform administration).
- Enable adoption by aligning priorities and supporting stakeholders; oversee administration of related technologies (e.g., SharePoint).
Qualifications & Skills
- Broad project/portfolio management systems knowledge; direct MS Project experience (other platforms preferred).
- Understand how project planning data supports portfolio/resource/financial planning.
- Enterprise system business ownership experience (governance, requirements, user support, issue management).
- AI/automation application knowledge; Power BI (or similar) preferred.
- Data governance/quality/stewardship knowledge.
- Pharmaceutical drug discovery/development expertise.
- Strong collaboration, communication, organization, and problem-solving; stakeholder influence in a matrixed environment.
Education & Experience
- Bachelorβs in Business, Life Sciences, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
- Typically 12 yearsβ experience (or equivalent).
- Required: relevant experience in pharma/biotech supporting portfolio/program management, business systems, or operations.
- Required: leading cross-functional initiatives with senior stakeholders.
- People leadership preferred (not required).
Pay
- $192,000β$288,000; eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards.
