Role Summary
Phlebotomist. Location: Las Vegas, NV. Join a plasma center team to support donor care and plasma collection. You will assist in determining donor suitability, establish rapport with donors, respond to donor reactions, monitor donor health and equipment, and set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines.
Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Additional Requirements
- Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms. Personal protective equipment is required, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear.
- Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment and to extreme cold in plasma freezers (below 32 degrees F).
- Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day; bending and twisting of neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day; frequent hand movements and fine finger dexterity; ability to grasp and manipulate small objects.
- Frequent walking up to 6–8 hours per day; possible squatting or kneeling; light lifting of 15 lb with maximum lift 50 lb; may reach below shoulder height.
- Hearing acuity is essential; color perception and near/far vision are expected and may be corrected; the ability to comprehend and follow instructions and to communicate with diverse groups.
