Role Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of donors and purity of product as a result of the plasma collection process. They monitor the donor throughout the collection process for equipment errors, donor reactions, or any unexpected events taking the appropriate actions when any unexpected event occurs.

Responsibilities

  • Set up automated collection instruments and monitor donors through the collection process.
  • Disconnection of donors from the automated instrument and management of Level 1 reactions.
  • Ensure product integrity of the plasma unit and associated samples; ensure products are dispositioned and samples collected while ensuring product is frozen and stored in accordance with ADMA procedures.
  • Stage units for shipment and samples for testing; physically arrange samples and cases in freezer to ensure organization.
  • Represent the organization to donors, maintaining professionalism, courtesy, and attentive service; demonstrate teamwork, respect, and courtesy with coworkers.
  • Take initiative to elevate work-related skills with the goal of obtaining the Advanced Phlebotomist position; cross-train and qualify for plasma processing and donor screener functions.

Qualifications

  • Required: Qualification as a phlebotomist and ability to interpret health history and vital signs in relation to company procedures.
  • Preferred: Cross-training and successful qualification for plasma processing and donor screener functions; pursuit of Advanced Phlebotomist position.
