Role Summary

Phlebotomist in a plasma center responsible for donor assessment, collection, and ensuring donor comfort and safety. You will set up and operate automated plasmapheresis machines, monitor donors and equipment to maintain donor health and product quality, and ensure proper disposal of contaminated equipment. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and committed to delivering a positive donor experience. Location: Reno, NV.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
  • Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality.
  • Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
  • Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
  • Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
  • Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Additional Requirements

  • Work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms; exposure to electrical equipment; PPE required.
  • Physical demands: standing 6–8 hours per day; bending and twisting 1–2 hours per day; frequent hand movements; walking up to 6–8 hours per day; up to 50 lbs maximum lift (light lifting of 15 lbs).
  • Hearing acuity essential; vision requirements: near and far vision, with correction to 20/30 and 20/100 in respective eyes.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
