Role Summary

Phlebotomist role at Grifols in a plasma center, training provided. You will assist in donor suitability, build rapport with donors, maintain donor confidentiality, respond to donor reactions, monitor donor health and product quality, and set up and operate automated plasmapheresis machines. Location: Jacksonville, Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
  • Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality.
  • Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
  • Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
  • Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
  • Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Education

Additional Requirements

  • Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms; PPE required
  • Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; exposure to extreme cold in plasma freezer
  • Standing for 6 to 8 hours per day; bending and twisting 1–2 hours per day
  • Frequent hand movement and precise finger coordination; frequent foot movement; may walk up to 6–8 hours per day
  • Light lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Hearing and vision requirements; ability to follow instructions and listen attentively; ability to communicate with diverse groups
