Role Summary
Phlebotomist role at a Grifols plasma center in Wichita Falls, TX. You will join an international team to improve the future of healthcare, help donors feel comfortable, and operate automated plasmapheresis equipment to collect plasma.
Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
Qualifications
- Superior customer service standards
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
Additional Requirements
- Work is performed in a plasma center with potential exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms
- Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment
- Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while working in a plasma freezer
- Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear
- Standing for 6 to 8 hours per day; bending and twisting neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day
- Frequent hand movement with the ability to perform fast, precise finger movements
- Frequent foot movement; may infrequently squat, crouch or sit on heels
- May walk up to 6–8 hours per day
- Light lifting of 15 lbs, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs
- Hearing acuity essential; color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision may be required
- Ability to listen to and understand information and follow instructions
