Role Summary

Phlebotomist – We Train. Join an international healthcare team at Grifols to improve the future of healthcare and enhance the lives of donors. You will work in a plasma center to support donation processes, ensuring donor comfort and confidentiality, and operating plasmapheresis equipment. Training is provided, and a flexible schedule with applicable state licensure or certification is required where applicable. Location: Fayetteville, NC, USA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
  • You establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
  • You respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
  • Monitors donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
  • Sets up, disconnects, and operates the automated plasmapheresis machines.
  • Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment.

  • Required: Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Required: An interest in making a difference in the world
  • Required: Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable

Additional Requirements

  • Occupational demands: Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms.
  • Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; PPE required (protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear).
  • Physical demands: Standing for 6 to 8 hours per day; bending and twisting neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day; frequent hand and finger movements; frequent walking up to 6–8 hours per day; light lifting with a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Vision and hearing: Color perception/discrimination and near/far vision; hearing acuity essential.
  • Communication: Must comprehend and follow instructions and be able to convey information effectively.
