Role Summary
Phlebotomist responsible for assisting in donor screening, engaging with donors to ensure a positive experience while maintaining confidentiality, and supporting plasmapheresis processes. The role involves monitoring donors and equipment, responding to donor reactions, and operating automated plasmapheresis machines. Location: UT-Spanish Fork, Utah.
Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
Additional Requirements
- Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms; exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while working in plasma freezer; PPE required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear.
- Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day; bending and twisting neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day; frequent hand movement and precise finger coordination; may walk up to 6-8 hours per day; light lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Hearing acuity essential; color perception/discrimination and near/far vision are required.
