Role Summary
Phlebotomist responsible for donor screening and plasma collection activities in a plasma center. The ideal candidate is patient and reliable, committed to keeping donors comfortable and happy. You will assist in determining donor suitability, maintain donor confidentiality, respond to donor reactions, monitor donor health and product quality, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines. Location: OH-Newark, Mt Vernon, Ohio, USA.
Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.
Qualifications

- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- An interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
Additional Requirements
- Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms; personal protective equipment is required.
- Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment; exposure to extreme cold while working in a plasma freezer.
- Work is performed standing for 6 to 8 hours per day; bending and twisting the neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day; frequent hand movements and fine motor tasks; may walk up to 6-8 hours per day; light lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Hearing acuity is essential; color perception and vision requirements are specified; must be able to follow instructions and communicate effectively.
