Role Summary
Phlebotomist in a plasma center. Responsible for donor screening, maintaining donor comfort and confidentiality, monitoring donor health and equipment, and operating automated plasmapheresis machines to ensure donor safety and product quality. Location: Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities
- Assist in determining the suitability of donors.
- Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while ensuring donor confidentiality.
- Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions.
- Monitor donor and equipment to ensure donor health and quality of product.
- Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines.
- Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Additional Requirements
- Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms.
- Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment.
- Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F while working in plasma freezers.
- Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold-gear.
- Standing for 6 to 8 hours per day; bending and twisting neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day; frequent hand movement and fine motor skills.
- May walk up to 6-8 hours per day. Light lifting of 15 lbs with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Hearing, near and far vision required; ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
