Role Summary
Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist for R&I Primary Care Team based in Austin South, TX. You will educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety to support on-label prescribing, while developing local strategy and building relationships to drive sales in the Buda, Bastrop, Hutto, and South Austin area. You will collaborate with district leadership to implement targeting plans and leverage formulary opportunities to increase territory performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop superior product and disease state knowledge and educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, indications, and product efficacy/safety to support on-label prescribing.
- Function independently with sales proficiency to drive sales performance and meet or exceed forecasts and budgets.
- Complete training requirements, including product examinations.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care information for the territory.
- Partner with District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop local strategy and business plans to increase sales in the territory.
- Capitalize on formulary approvals and opportunities through Strategic Targeting Plans using promotional resources and analytical tools to enhance effectiveness in the territory.
- Provide special education to healthcare providers within AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with other Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists to coordinate selling efforts.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree
- Required: Driver’s license and safe driving record
- Preferred: Knowledge of the medical, healthcare or pharmacy industry, especially within Respiratory therapeutic areas
- Preferred: Prior sales experience
- Preferred: Strong organizational and communication skills
- Preferred: Demonstrated leadership
- Preferred: Sound judgment and decision-making capability
