The Position:
Assumes responsibility for achieving sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies aimed at effectively selling and promoting Novo Nordisk’s portfolio of products to HCPs and other office staff.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate competencies with territory-level impact.
- Understand local payer market (Medicare/Commercial/Medicaid, coverage, step therapy, coverage gap, copays/deductibles) and how it impacts decisions.
- Understand territory customer groups (IPAs, medical groups, health systems, local clinics) and identify/tailor business opportunities.
- Analyze bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status.
- Analyze managed care impact on prescribing and modify strategies.
- Build/utilize relationships with specialists and key hospital decision-makers affecting purchasing/prescribing/formulary decisions.
- Research and tailor account plans to stakeholder needs and account practices.
- Develop and execute territory business plans using market trends, priorities, and patient needs.
- Gain/maintain access and relationships with prescribers, support staff, pharmacies, and clinic administrators; collaborate around clinical management and offer NNI-approved solutions.
- Use Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model (pre-call planning, uncover needs, provide solutions/resolve objections, gain commitment).
- Use analytical tools to create plans to engage customers and drive territory sales goals.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define roles and ensure accountability.
- Control samples/company property; manage discretionary territory budget and promotional budget.
- Demonstrate disease-state and treatment-option knowledge (NNI and competitor products) and promoted clinical study knowledge.

Physical Requirements:
- Maintain a valid driver’s license; remain in good standing per points threshold.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or PharmD required.
- Preferred: 1+ year experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or military.
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); sales data/call reporting software experience ideal.
- Self-starter; able to evaluate options and decide with minimal supervision.
- Leadership/decision-making aptitude; strong learning ability and ability to communicate technical/scientific information.
