The Position
- Achieve sales goals by implementing marketing and sales strategies to sell/promote Novo Nordisk’s product portfolio to HCPs and office staff.
Essential Functions
- Understand local payer market (Medicare/Commercial/Medicaid, coverage, step therapy, copays/deductibles, coverage gap) and adjust strategy.
- Identify business opportunities using knowledge of customer groups (IPAs, Medical Groups, Health Systems, Local Clinics).
- Analyze bidding policies/contracts to influence formulary status.
- Analyze managed care impact and modify sales/promotion strategies.
- Build relationships with specialists and key decision-makers influencing purchasing/prescribing/formulary.
- Research and tailor account plans; develop/execute territory business plans.
- Gain and maintain customer access (prescribers, support staff, pharmacies, clinic administrators) and drive business impact with NNI-approved solutions.
- Use Novo Nordisk Edge Selling Model (pre-call planning, uncover needs, deliver core messages/resolve objections, gain commitment).
- Use analytical tools to create plans that drive appropriate product use and meet territory sales goals.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders; manage samples/territory and marketing budgets per policy.
- Maintain disease-state and treatment-continuum knowledge (NNI and competitors); demonstrate clinical-study knowledge.
- Contribute to meetings/training/events.
Physical Requirement
- Valid driver’s license; maintain acceptable driving-record status.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s (or equivalent) and/or PharmD required.
- 1+ year experience preferred (pharma/healthcare, sales, consulting, customer service, or military).
- Intermediate Windows/Word/Excel; sales data/call reporting software experience ideal.
- Self-starter with leadership/decision-making aptitude; strong learning and ability to communicate scientific/technical info.
