Patient Advocacy
Summary:
Patient & Community Educator (PACE) provides compliant, non-promotional education to caregivers, patients, residential staff, and healthcare professionals on Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and Soleno’s approved therapy. Field-based, supporting commercial strategy by improving disease understanding, treatment adherence, and informed engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and execute patient/caregiver engagement activities (1:1, meetings, programs, conferences) using varied communication media.
- Conduct educational in-services for patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, clinic teams, and advocacy organizations.
- Support national/regional advocacy events, conferences, and community programs (evenings/weekends as needed).
- Share field insights with internal teams and National Director PACE & DRS to inform educational strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (DRSs, RDS, RADs, Medical, Advocacy, Marketing) and provide education on VYKAT XR.
- Serve as a trusted, accessible resource (no directing care or medical advice).
- Support Caregiver Advisory Boards.
- Maintain timely documentation in PRM.
- Maintain disease-state/product expertise via ongoing education and attendance at relevant events.
- Use only approved resources/messages; respect privacy and manage personal info per laws/policies.
- Establish and meet MBOs; maintain documentation requirements for clinical licenses/certifications.
Qualifications (required/preferred):
- Bachelor’s in nursing/dietetics/social work/allied health/clinical background (advanced degree preferred). No direct patient care.
- 5+ years pharma/biotech experience; rare disease specialty product experience preferred (Endocrinology, Rare Obesity/Hyperphagia, or Genetics).
- 3+ years designing/providing patient/caregiver education (ideally rare disease).
- Prior product launch experience preferred.
- Strong legal/regulatory/compliance knowledge; patient-literacy communication skills.
- Fluent English; Spanish highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and with diverse cross-functional teams; excellent communication and cultural competency.
- Self-starter passionate about rare disease.
Role requirements:
- Full-time; evening/weekend availability as needed; frequent domestic travel (50%+); access to transportation/airports.
Compensation:
- Salary range: $195,000–$220,000 (actual may vary).
