Position Summary:
Patient Access Manager (PAM) provides field-based access and reimbursement support as a dedicated point of contact for healthcare providers (HCPs) on on-label access questions. Serves as liaison among HCPs, specialty pharmacies, payers, patients, hub services, and internal cross-functional teams within an assigned territory; requires frequent travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate HCPs on programs, processes, and access-related requirements (in-person/virtual) to facilitate patient access.
- Prevent and resolve access and reimbursement issues through education, problem-solving, and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain access-related relationships with HCP accounts and office support staff.
- Use market knowledge to navigate patient access, coverage, and reimbursement requirements.
- Conduct proactive in-services covering coverage pathways, prior authorization, specialty pharmacy coordination, appeals, hub resources, and patient support.
- Escalate local payer issues to National Account Managers and PAM Leads.
- Coordinate pre- and post-referral education and support; monitor referral status with customer support and specialty pharmacies.
- Support reauthorization and payer transitions to minimize therapy interruptions.
- Facilitate patient reimbursement/affordability via prior authorizations, appeals, and financial support options.
- Share regional/national payer plan expertise and support national access initiatives.
Education & Experience (required/preferred):
- Bachelorβs degree required (life sciences preferred); RN/MSN/MBA a plus.
- 4+ years relevant experience (pharma sales, market access, national accounts, or specialty pharmacy) with deep access/reimbursement expertise.
- Medicare expertise strongly preferred.
