Patient Access Liaison (PAL) / PAL Manager

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource on patient access and reimbursement for infused and specialty therapies.
- Assist patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers with insurance benefits, prior authorization, and reimbursement processes.
- Support resolution of access challenges (coverage questions, prior authorization barriers, denied claims).
- Provide education on coding and billing considerations.
- Engage patients/caregivers by phone, virtual, and in-person; obtain HIPAA authorization within assigned geography.
- Assess patient needs; educate on coverage and steps for prior authorization.
- Provide information on co-pay assistance, national foundations, and free drug programs when appropriate.
- Educate physician offices and sites of care on coverage pathways and reimbursement processes.
- Support providers/infusion centers with reimbursement questions; investigate access challenges before/after infusion.
- Review denied claims with sites of care and identify next steps; escalate complex reimbursement issues.
- Partner with Market Access, Medical Affairs, Advocacy, Case Management, and Site of Care teams; share payer and reimbursement field insights.

What We Expect Of You (Qualifications)
Basic Qualifications — Level 5: Doctorate; OR Master’s +2 yrs; OR Bachelor’s +4 yrs; OR Associate’s +8 yrs; OR HS/GED +10 yrs in patient services and/or access & reimbursement.
Basic Qualifications — Level 6: Doctorate +2 yrs; OR Master’s +4 yrs; OR Bachelor’s +6 yrs in patient services and/or access & reimbursement.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Buy-and-bill or infused therapy experience; rare disease/orphan drug experience.
- Clinical background (nursing/allied health).
- Knowledge of reimbursement (prior authorization, appeals, denied claims), HIPAA/FDA, and compliance; strong analytical/problem-solving.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; manage complex patient situations; cross-functional field team experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM, and AI; coding/billing awareness; patient support program knowledge.
- Learning agility, decision quality, stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to respond rapidly to urgent access needs; operate in matrix environments.
- Travel up to 50%.

Compensation & Benefits (as stated)
- Annual base salary: Level 5 $158,394–$185,578; Level 6 $164,276–$222,256.
