Position Summary
- Support and assist the Pathology and Pathology Operations departments in daily operations, including Macrodissection and Microdissection.

Job Responsibilities
- Use Laboratory Information Systems (LIS); log appropriate information into LIS and other required logs.
- Assist with related duties and special projects for the Pathology and Pathologist Assistant departments.
- Collect marked areas for molecular analysis using Micro and Macro techniques.
- Maintain a clean workstation.
- Prioritize and triage specimens; handle and dispose of specimens and chemical waste per procedural manual and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality for sensitive information.
- Perform Quality Control/Quality Assurance tests; maintain documentation and logs.
- Report test quality concerns and patient/employee safety concerns to a supervisor or Safety Officer.
- Maintain laboratory procedures and ensure compliance with applicable policies; recommend changes as needed.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on microdissection equipment (and document it).
- Communicate laboratory problems and non-conformities to supervisor/management.
- Foster a collaborative, positive work environment; accept other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical/medical laboratory science, or medical technology (accredited).
- OR non-matching B.S. degree with: 60 semester hours including either 24 medical laboratory technology hours or specified science/chemistry/biology hours; plus ABHES/CAAHEP-approved clinical lab training OR 3 months documented training in each specialty for high-complexity testing.

Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience; technical pathology qualifications.
- Experience with microdissection technicians in a CLIA-certified environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of lab safety, biohazards/chemicals, QC procedures, and regulations; strong quantitative/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work accurately under routine/stressful conditions; multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective verbal/written communication and organization; strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet use.
